In the course LIS 60602: Resource Description and Access (RDA), we learned how to describe resources according to RDA standards and how to encode this information using MARC21. This is my final portfolio for the class which shows the completed records I created. The records do not have call numbers or subject headings included because that was information covered in another class. This assignment helped me to understand the theories behind RDA and how that information relates to a Marc record, which aligns with PLO 1. It also gave me practice cataloging a variety of materials, which will help to prepare me for cataloging in my future career. The knowledge learned in this course helps me to meet III.B.4 from the Competencies for Special Collections Professionals.
